On August 8, 2008, beginning at 5:30 p.m., the Evening of Champions will be held in Chinatown on 10^th Street between Arch and Race streets. Free and open to the public, the ‘street fair’ will celebrate the spirit of Olympism, capture the excitement of the Olympic Games, and help to showcase Chinese tradition, culture, and history in Philadelphia. The event will feature the Opening Ceremonies being broadcast on large-screens (at 8 p.m.), appearances by Olympians, displays of Olympic-related sports, and exhibitions of Chinese culture and traditions.
